Cherished Piano Teacher, Teddy Newsom has not only established herself as a prominent piano and keyboard educator in South Orange County, but she is also the Chairperson of the Laguna Beach chapter of the National Guild of Piano Teachers, and a highly accomplished musician with over 30 years of professional teaching experience. 

Ms. Teddy, as most of her students call her, first gained her love of music as a young child learning to play organ in her home state of Utah. Eager to quench her thirst for knowledge, she expanded her repertoire to include classical knowledge of both the piano and keyboard, as she earned her degree in Piano Pedagogy from Cal State Fullerton, California.

As an accomplished musician, Teddy has been a headlining performer at some of the most exclusive venues in Southern California, including The Brown Derby and Bonaventure hotel. And, she also served as the Music Director of a prominent church in San Gabriel Valley for over thirteen years.Teaching hundreds of students over more than 30 years, many whom have gone on to become successful, and in some cases professional, musicians, she has become well verse in recognizing the challenges many musicians face as they develop She is proficient in areas of classical, jazz, adult contemporary and pop music, and has a knack for combining theoretic knowledge of academia with professional experience to maximize student results.
